Research paper prepared by the scientists from the Dr Irena Eris Scientific Research Centre, Diagnostic Imaging Department at the Medical University of Warsaw and Ultrasound Department of the Polish Academy of Sciences was accepted for publication in the Skin Research and Technology journal. The research study addressed the subject of skin and subcutaneous tissue imaging by means of classic and high-frequency ultrasonography in assessing the effectiveness of anti-cellulite products.
This is another publishing success of the Dr Irena Eris Scientific Research Centre, which proves high level of the research conducted by its scientists.
Skin Research and Technology journal is included in the list of journals indexed by the Institute of Scientific Information, which stores, processes and popularises various scientific data bases containing data available to general public, including information contained in scientific journals, books, patents and conference publications.

Journals on the ISI list* are considered to be the best in the scientific sector. Thus, a paper published in one of them presents higher value, compared to a publication in other journals!
The scientific paper entitled Imaging of the skin and subcutaneous tissue using classic and high-frequency ultrasonography in anti-cellulite therapy presents a study on the effectiveness of an anti-cellulite treatment in a group of 69 women. It has been observed that the use of cosmetic products caused the decrease in thickness of the subcutaneous fat tissue and changes in the following skin parameters: tissue echogenicity and protrusions of the subcutaneous tissue towards the dermis.
Ultrasonography allows to examine the inside of the skin affected by cellulite and assess the extent of changes in the anatomy of the dermis and the underlying subcutaneous fat tissue. USG tests showed that the Pharmaceris C products produce visible effects already after 14 days of use.
* ISI Master Journal List /as in Wikipedia/ – is a list of scientific journals created and updated by the Institute for Scientific Information. It comprises journals which underwent the evaluation process and are included in the ISI data bases. Frequently, the term is wrongly used to indicate a list of journals whose Impact Factor (IF) has been measured. The list of journals with an IF is available in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) prepared by the ISI.
According to the Ordinance of the Minister of Science and Information Technologies (previously Committee of Scientific Research) of 4 August 2005 concerning the criteria and procedures for allocation and accounts of financial means regarding scientific research, the number of publications in the journals from the ISI list formed the basis of the point-based evaluation system applied towards the Polish scientific facilities.
